There is room in the forum for all kinds of discussion and this happened to crop up on Leya's thread.

I'd be more than interested in how many people actually come here, what '99%' actually want to see, and why there are not more active contributors.

Romania and Hungary of course are neighbours, and back in the dual-monarchy days and before, a big chunk of what is now Romania was ruled from Budapest - or rather, was ruled by a Hungarian landed aristocracy who were quite extraordinarily ignorant and brutal even by the standards of the time and place.

Sooo... there are pockets of native Hungarian speakers in modern Romania. And in Western Rom. many native Romanian speakers have good enough Hungarian to live in Budapest comfortably.

One of the paid girlfriends I have most adored is from Arad, 20km from the border and a sacred town to Hungarians because of the martyrs of 1848. She and all her naughty friends are fluent in the Magyar language and pop across there in their hard-earned BMWs quite frequently.

However for all I know, of course Leya could be Hungarian.
