No unread messages but

Postby hopless3 on Thu Oct 28, 2010 11:50 am

in the front page the forum shows as having unread posts.

one the front page of eurobabeforum.com "The lost Babes of EBI" showed as having unread items. So I looked at the forum read the only unread topic and went back to the top menu. However it was still listed as having unread topics so I opened it again thinking there had been another post . There were no unread posts.

Now I've seen this several times in the past and not been able to find the unread post. However clicking "Mark Topics read " clears this. I had assumed that some post not updated for years had been updated but hadn't move to the head of the list.

However this time the forum "The lost Babes of EBI" only has 10 topics so I could see all of them and they were all listed as read. I then tried opening all 10 topics going to their last page so guaranteeing that they had all been read. However the front page insists that there are still unread topics.

I realise it isn't a major problem but it would seem be connected to the indexing of the system however I seems to not be getting worse and as far as can remember it's always happened since we switched to this current EBI format (not for any version upgrade since). It may be related to me using Opera rather than the more popular browsers like I.E. Firefox and Chrome.

Ok I just tried this in Chrome and the forum is still listed as having unread posts when they are all read

normally the "Mark topics read" should fix this. hmm.... maybe something is wrong with your cookie on the server?!

yes "Mark topics read" does fix it but it just struck me it shouldn't be necessary. I thought I'd mention it in case it's an indicator of something more serious.

EDIT

have you just cleared the cookie on the server? the problem seems to have just corrected it's self
