February 2011 - [PART 1 of 2] Charming French XXX actress Lou Charmelle opens up to EBI for a candid discussion about her day job as a medical assistant in a Swiss hospital, her fellow French pornstars, doing escort for an exclusive Swiss agency, having anal sex at 13 or so, and shooting in the USA. • EBI: You're a lingerie fan? Your name reminds me of a famous lingerie brand.
• Lou: I'm not obsessed but I like nice underwear like all women, I think.
• EBI: What about movies? What are you watching?
• Lou: I prefer the series to blockbuster hollywood movies, and I like "Breaking Bad", "The Big Bang Theory", "Weeds"...
• EBI: There's not much about you on the internet, Google has only little information. A first shoot in 2007, a few local French productions and a US tour.
• Lou: I started in 2008. France doesn't have many productions, you know? You quickly run out of interesting jobs. I did about 150 scenes over about 2 years, that's what Hungarian girls shoot in 6 months in Budapest! Well, at least that's my own perception, you can correct the figures :)

• EBI: How do you compare yourself to the other French pornstars (Katsuni, Helena Karel, Clara Morgane...)?
• Lou: I cannot compare my career with those of Helena or Katsuni, I haven't been in porn long enough. I don't think it as a hobby, though! Clara Morgane has a totally atypical career, I can't compare myself with her.
• EBI: Dang, I would've liked to hear a few back-handed statements and other mean things about these girls, but apparently you're the "nice girl" type!
• Lou: Well yeah, I don't like to meddle with other's business and I prefer to concentrate on my own path ;-)
• EBI: I read that you live in Geneva, is that for fiscal reasons, like the French singer Johnny Halliday?
• Lou: I live in Switzerland but not in Geneva (hint: it's still next to the lake Leman). Unfortunately, I'm not yet wealthy enough to need to avoid the IRS! But I would like to be! (laughs) No, more seriously, I went to Switzerland because I'm a medical assistant and compensation here is twice than in France.
• EBI: A nurse!?! Do some patients recognize you? Or you specialize in caring for the elderly?
• Lou: Had I stayed in France, maybe I would've had a few problems with that. But you know, in Switzerland, people don't watch porn much. At least no one recognized me yet ;-)
• EBI: Hey that would make a nice scenario for a movie. A patient would blackmail you and force you to have sex with him otherwise he would tell the hospital. Then, one day, you'd kill him by tripling his dose of Viagra, then ride his exploding thrusting boner while the poor guy foams at the mouth and jerks to his screaming death. You'd do a reverse anal cowgirl in your nurse uniform, of course :)
• Lou: You can peddle that script to production companies, who knows? :-)
• EBI: How's the job? You have got to be really strong to bear the long hours and the sick and dying patients? Or is it easier in Switzerland than in France?
• Lou: It's a tough ungratifying job, people don't think it as hard and work hours are difficult, very badly paid. In Switzerland, the work load is lighter and salary higher, it is easier to do a good job, unlike in France, where it's like a factory to work in a hospital or nursing home.

• EBI: Speaking of money, if some guy asks you for a private performance via Facebook, do you tell him to get lost or do you ask him what he has in mind and for how much?
• Lou: I never answer requests via Facebook or other social networks. I sometimes do escort, but through a very prestigious and pricey Swiss agency. Because I am very selective, I always end up meeting very interesting people.
• EBI: Really? What are your selection criteria? Age, weight, height, dick size, silver/gold/platinum Amex? You ask escort friends if they can vouch for the guy?
• Lou: I don't have escort friends, I always ask my agent for guarantees, and he is in charge of a first level filtering. Of course age is one of the criteria. And I already refused someone because he boasted that he likes to poach protected species (^_^)
• EBI: You're not friends with other pornstars? You like to keep to yourself? You're snobbish? (don't hit me yet).
• Lou: I don't live in Paris, and there's less and less long productions, it's harder to strike a friendship. Liza Del Sierra is my only real friend in the business, we see each other a little bit more regularly. Other than that, I really like Graziella Diamond, and in the US, I really hit it out with Katie St-Ives, Lily Labeau.. But it's not easy when you don't see people very often.
• EBI: Have you ever worked in a strip club? Or have you always been a medical assistant?
• Lou: I have been doing this job since I have been 18 years old, it's my first job. I have never worked in strip clubs, actually, just thinking about it petrifies me. I could never do a show in front of an audience!
• EBI: You have to admit that it's a bit strange from someone who has DVDs, pictures and movies on the internet, being reamed simultaneously in every hole by well endowed men..
• Lou: Shooting hardcore scenes is different from dancing in public.

• EBI: Your birth date is on your EBI model card. Teenage years are now far away, but do you remember how it was? Traumatic, hard, fantastic? I'll skip the usual question on your cherry, only perverts are interested in that. Tell us instead some funny story about your work before you started doing porn.
• Lou: LOL, thanks I'm not a grandma with diapers yet! My teenagehood was pretty much alright, in fact I stayed with the same boy from 13 to 17! I had my first sexual experiments with him. When I was 15 I was already an anal sex fiend! (laughs) *That* is bound to attract perverts, right? :)
• EBI: At 13? You were really early, normally it's all about video games.
• Lou: You can do both. I've always loved video games.
• EBI: Hmmm.. Or was he older?
• Lou: Bingo! He was 19 when I met him. And indeed I was a precocious child.
• EBI: I'll skip the legal implications of what you're saying.. In my opinion your ex-boyfriend is not 100% clean. If my 13 year-old daughter told me that she just discovered anal sex with a 19 year old guy, I wouldn't be very happy. Would you let your daughter do whatever she wants at any age?? From when would you empower her with her body?
• Lou: I didn't start right at 13 either, I waited a little bit longer! (laughs). I think it's stupid to define an age to be able to do some things. Some girls (and guys) are still completely immature at 16, others are much more grown up at 14. I wouldn't base myself on her age but how mature she is.
• EBI: What about your parents? Do they know? Are they happy? In the porn business I often see girls who do not speak with their parents at all anymore, often the father is a missing figure in the family.
• Lou: Do my parents know about what? My porn career or my first boyfriend? In both cases, I never got a problem, my mom is a former anarchist who's very open minded and always supported me as long as I was happy. Of course, I don't think she dreamed to see her daughter shoot porn movies, but she knows I'm smarter than most (laughs).

• EBI: We all know now that you're not an airhead and you're quite charming. What about your father, you're not speaking about him. I noticed that almost all girls in the porn business or strippers have either an absent father or no father. You know Chris Rock, the stand up comedian, he even has a joke on this in his "Never Scared" show. He says "If your daughter is a stripper, you fucked up".
• Lou: Yeah it's something you cannot just not see. Even though I despise journalists who are constantly trying to categorize porn actresses as women with father issues, I have to admit that I don't know many who do not have problems with their dad. But I noticed exactly the same thing in the hospital. In fact, these are jobs which demand to give a lot, and also brings recognition from the others, either in the porn biz or in the medical world, so maybe it's a way to heal a damaged self-esteem?
